Garvey officially retires from Southern Illinois Builders Association

O’FALLON — Tim Garvey, the longtime head of the Southern Illinois Builders Association. has officially retired after serving the construction industry for nearly 35 years.

Garvey was chief executive officer from Jan. 1, 2011, through Dec. 31, 2014.

garvey timGarvey began his tenure with SIBA in 1981, serving as its industry affairs director through the end of 1990. At that time, he left the SIBA to serve as executive director of the Greater Peoria Contractors and Suppliers Association, from January, 1991, through October, 1995. Garvey then returned to the SIBA to serve as the director of the industry fund, the Southern Illinois Construction Advancement Program, and as the SIBA assistant executive director.

On Jan. 1, 2001, he was promoted to chief executive officer of the Southern Illinois Builders Association.

A retirement party was held on Friday, Aug. 28.
