HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital to unveil new indoor play area at St. Clair Square

BELLEVILLE – The options for free family fun in Fairview Heights will expand this week with the debut of St. Clair Square’s indoor play area, sponsored by HSHS St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and HSHS Home Care Southern Illinois.
The community is invited to the grand opening, taking place at 10 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 7, in Center Court.
The new play area, encompassing more than 1,000 square-feet, features a collection of soft, colorful structures perfect for climbing and exploring. All of the elements are being kept under wraps until Friday’s big reveal.
The event is free and will include giveaways, interactive health information stations and health screenings, including free blood pressure, cholesterol and glucose screenings by St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. Hands-on activities by mall retailers including Auntie Anne’s Pretzels, Barnes & Noble, Claire’s, Kiddo’s, and the new Cinnabon will also be available. Guests will also be able to sign up to win Cardinal tickets or a special kids’ prize, courtesy of St. Elizabeth’s Hospital and HSHS Home Care.
St. Elizabeth’s recently began offering home care services through HSHS Home Care Southern Illinois, which was launched by and expanded from St. Elizabeth’s sister hospital HSHS St. Anthony’s Memorial Hospital in Effingham. HSHS Home Care Southern Illinois provides skilled and compassionate home health services in 22 counties across the HSHS Southern Illinois Division service area.
