Comptroller in area to discuss budget impact on nonprofits

State Comptroller Leslie Geissler Munger will tour several nonprofit organizations in southern and central Illinois on Wednesday and discuss the consequences of the continuing state budget impasse.
The state’s chief financial officer, Munger will hold a news conference following each tour to discuss the latest with the budget and its impact on the comptroller’s ability to pay state bills.
Her schedule includes:
– 10 a.m.: Lessie Bates Davis House, 1045 State St., East St. Louis
– 1 p.m.: SPARC Workforce Center, 2929 Stanton Ave., Springfield
– 3 p.m.: The Baby Fold, 612 Oglesby Ave., Normal
