Waterloo attorney named to SWIC Foundation Board

BELLEVILLE – Mary E. Buettner of Waterloo, attorney and owner of Mary E. Buettner, P.C., has been named to the Southwestern Illinois College Foundation Board.

As a board member, she will support the foundation’s efforts to provide special educational and cultural activities that are not part of the college budget.

Buettner (left), a former GED instructor at SWIC, supports the Mary Buettner GED Scholarship awarded annually by the SWIC Foundation to GED graduates who reside in Monroe or Randolph County.

Buettner is a graduate of Washington University and Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, and has been a practicing attorney since 1987. She worked as an in-house counsel for large national corporations based in St. Louis before establishing her private practice in Waterloo in 1996. Licensed in both Illinois and Missouri, she practices in the areas of business, governmental, real estate and estate planning law, and is a frequent speaker on estate planning matters.

She will serve through 2018.
