CENTREVILLE – Touchette Regional Hospital has received a national recognition.

The hospital was honored in the category of “Most Improved – Discharge Information – Medium Hospital” by the Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems. The Patient Experience Award survey was conducted by provider Avatar Solutions.

The honor is awarded to the hospital that demonstrates the greatest improvement in patient experiences through enhanced customer service and innovations over the past two years. Touchette said patient satisfaction with its discharge procedures has grown 10 percent – the largest increase among similarly-sized hospitals.

The award is based on results from the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems, a patient satisfaction survey required by the Centers of Medicare and Medicaid Services for all hospitals in the United States.

The survey compares hospitals across the country to view their perceptions through their patients’ eyes.

“This award highlights Touchette’s commitment to fulfilling its mission, in providing a great place to receive care, a great place to work, and a great place to practice medicine,” said Lynn Enrmantraut, senior vice president of performance improvement at Avatar Solutions.

Added Dr. Tom Mikkelson, chief operating officer of Touchette: “Our nursing staff has worked diligently to refine our discharge procedures based on our patients’ needs and feedback. To see their hard work recognized and appreciated by the satisfied patients we serve is the best reward we can receive.”
