WOOD RIVER – Riverbend Humane Society is planning an Animal Independence Day on Saturday, July 18, at Nancie’s Fancies Resale Shop, 799 Old St. Louis Road, to celebrate the work the society does to provide animals with a permanent home.
Riverbend will have a menu of summertime picnic fare, and there will also be a raffle and door prizes throughout the event.
The suggested donation for admission is $5. For more information, call (618) 254-2230.
The Riverbend Humane Society was founded in 2005 and is a non-profit organization. The shelter operates just south of Jerseyville, where a no-kill policy gives homeless animals a chance to live out their lives and find loving homes. Support for the Riverbend Humane Society is by funds from the resale shop and grooming parlor, donations and grants.
