O’FALLON — Southern Illinois Builders Association has launched a Leadership Development Council to support long-term growth among association members and their employees.
Former U.S. Congressman Jerry Costello was the keynote speaker at a recent kickoff event. He applauded the efforts of SIBA, stating that such organizations allow members of all sizes and experience levels to stand stronger.
Donna Richter, chief executive officer of Southern Illinois Builders Association, said the intent of the SIBA Leadership Development Council is to forge new and improve existing relationships between the younger employees/managers of SIBA members and SIBA, as well as to boost awareness of the services, support and networking that SIBA provides to its members.
One of the LDC’s goals is to continue to improve the services offered by SIBA by anticipating current and future managerial issues arising in the construction industry. Members are presented with networking opportunities that could lead to long-lasting personal connections — and career growth — within the membership and the construction industry.
“SIBA members and their employees of all ages can benefit from the views of the next generation,” Richter said.
