EDWARDSVILLE – Contegra Construction Co. has completed a $2.3 million project that delivered a new high-service pump station to boost flow capacity to 9.6 million gallons per day at the water treatment plant serving Edwardsville.
To accommodate potential future expansion, Contegra built the new high-service station, which features five 200-hp vertical turbine high-service pumps, on a site adjoining the existing water treatment facility along New Poag Road. It also converted a pump station on the site, which currently houses both high- and low-service units, to an exclusive low-service pump facility; created a 20-foot-deep cast-in-place wet well; and installed new electrical service for the entire water treatment plant.
Contegra is a design/build and construction management firm with offices in Edwardsville and in St. Louis, Mo. It operates in the institutional, industrial, health care, municipal water and wastewater, retail and office markets and is among the largest contractors in metro St. Louis.
