Quality of life topic at Alton event

ALTON – What makes a community a great place to live? The City with a View will hold a presentation on, “The Culture Factor: Creating Quality of Life in Emerging Communities,” on Thursday, June 25, at 7 p.m. at Jacoby Arts Center, 627 East Broadway.
The public is welcome.
Guest speaker will be by Greg Brumitt, who has played a leading role in making Ashville, N.C., and Dayton, Ohio, into more livable, vibrant communities. Brumitt now lives in the Metro East and said he sees amazing potential for Alton.
He will discuss how some communities have risen from their rust-belt past to become welcoming destinations by first acknowledging, then leveraging their assets into a bigger quality of life vision.
