Alan J. Dunstan – Madison County
“During the difficult years of the recent recession, a time when many businesses were forced to re-evaluate strategic plans and revise budgets to reflect the economic downturn, Madison County officials were working diligently to prepare for economic growth. We were confident Madison County, and our country, would rise from the negative economic cycle and would return to a long-term growth trend, and we wanted to be in position to capitalize on the growth opportunities which would emerge. We have rehabilitated the levees which protect a significant portion of the county from Mississippi River flooding, and have made other significant infrastructure improvements that will help retain existing businesses, attract new development and, importantly, create jobs.
The infrastructure is in place. The county is strategically located, offers a skilled workforce and terrific communities. Now, county leaders are implementing the economic development strategy to enhance Madison County’s position as the ideal place to locate a business, or to live and raise a family.” Madison County is ready to thrive.
