Going global? Businesses invited to SIUE trade center luncheon

The Illinois SBDC International Trade Center at Southern Illinois University Edwardsville will present a luncheon and gathering on global trade on May 28.

Laurel Delaney, founder and president of GlobeTrade.com in Chicago, will address, “Go Global in the Digital Age! Taking on the International Market.”

The event is noon to 2 p.m. with registration and a networking reception beginning at 11 a.m. It will take place in Barnard Birger Hall. Cost is $15 and registration is required.

The program will focus on growing the region by equipping businesses to go global. Delaney will share her perspective on the importance of innovation and regional collaboration to increase local business and international trade.

Businesses will learn about international market opportunities, hear the latest on Illinois’ exports and trade initiatives, have access to new and creative ways to increase global sales and network with key trade professionals in the region.

The program is intended for any business leader with an intent in growing or starting their company in exporting, manufacturers, entrepreneurs, academics, service providers and trade advocates from the public and private sectors.
