SPARTA — Cedarhurst of Sparta, a new assisted living community located at 211 N. Market St. is now open for business.

Cedarhurst of Sparta is operated by Provision Living, LLC, of St. Louis, which also operates Cedarhurst communities in Edwardsville and Collinsville.

Tracy Parker, executive director of Cedarhurst of Sparta, said, “We are very excited to be moving in our residents and helping to get them settled into their new home. We’ve heard a lot of great compliments already about how beautiful the community is and all the residents seem to really be enjoying the chance to get to know the staff and their new neighbors.”

Cedarhurst of Sparta features 50 assisted living apartments in a traditional style community. One and two-bedroom apartments range in size from 529 square feet to 805 square feet. All apartments feature private bath and showers, kitchenettes, spacious closets, individual climate control and all utilities except personal phones.

The community also offers a select number of two-bedroom deluxe apartments with full kitchens and living rooms. Apartments are rented monthly and do not require a long-term contract or buy-in fees.

Beyond the private apartments, Cedarhurst features a large common area for activities, a library, salon and spa, movie theater, exercise rooms, a large dining area and a separate private dining room for smaller groups. Cedarhurst of Sparta was designed to provide seniors with a lifestyle that allows for independence while also giving them access to a wide range of services catered to their needs.

Rita Crowder, director of business development for all of Cedarhurst’s Illinois communities, said, “Cedarhurst is more than just a place to live. Our residents have worked hard all their lives, so we want them to have plenty of opportunity for fun and friendship with their neighbors.”

Amenities include three delicious home-cooked meals per day along with 24-hour beverage bar; weekly housekeeping and linen service; paid utilities (except personal telephone); expanded cable TV; maintenance and grounds-keeping service; scheduled transportation to doctors appointments, shopping and outings; planned group activities and special events; and emergency call system. Cedarhurst of Sparta offers residents individual care plans that include such services as assistance with medications and bathing or personal care. The community is pet friendly and encourages seniors to bring their companions with them.

Cedarhurst of Sparta also offers respite care for seniors or families who are in need of temporary care arrangements. “We have found that often times families and caregivers find themselves in situations where they need a place for mom or dad to stay for a few weeks,” said Parker. “Whether it’s because a caregiver is traveling or simply needs a break from the demands of caregiving, respite care offers a great solution and peace of mind.”
