SIUE launches online YouVisit campus tour
EDWARDSVILLE – Southern Illinois University Edwardsville has partnered with YouVisit, LLC to build a complete walking tour of SIUE’s scenic campus, giving prospective students and their parents access to University grounds and facilities.
High school students, as well as their families and counselors, can now explore SIUE’s campus at their convenience via siue.edu/virtualtour. In place of or in addition to a live campus visit, the tour also allows visitors to take further action to inquire or apply to SIUE.
“Research related to student choice and the college selection process indicates that prospective students and parents believe the campus tour is the most influential factor of many which go into choosing a college,” said Scott Belobrajdic, associate vice chancellor for enrollment management. “Having a detailed depiction of our beautiful campus and facilities available online will no doubt encourage more students to tour SIUE and meet us in person.
“The versatility of the virtual tour allows us to share it through social media and multiple strategic recruitment initiatives designed to increase our geographic reach nationally and globally. It is one thing to say that our campus is beautiful and well-maintained, but this tour allows prospective students to choose what they explore and investigate for themselves.”
YouVisit equips colleges and universities across the country with virtual tours on three key platforms: Facebook, Mobile (Android and iPhone), and college and university websites.
