Fourth Annual Restaurant Week starts Friday in Alton region
ALTON – The Fourth Annual Alton Restaurant Week will kick off on Friday, Jan. 16, and run for 10 food-filled, delicious days before ending Jan. 25.
A total of 16 locally-owned restaurants in the region will come together to prepare some of their best and favorite meals. Seafood, pepperloin steaks, barbecue, secret-recipe fried chicken, pizza, specialty pastas and more will highlight menus at local restaurants. Diners during restaurant week can expect fixed price meals with lunch at $10 and dinners for $25. There are no passes to buy, and no cards to punch.
Menus for participating restaurants and details on the event can be found at www.AltonRestaurantWeek.com.
The list of participating restaurants continues to expand each year. Newcomers to Restaurant Week this year include Reeta Marie’s Country Store in Brighton and the Fin Inn Restaurant in Grafton. Returning favorites also included in the extensive Restaurant Week menu of participants are: Aerie’s Riverview Winery, Amarillo Tex’s Steakhouse, Bluff City Grill, Bossanova Restaurant & Lounge, Carver’s Southern Style BBQ, Castelli’s at 255, Franco’s at the Holiday Inn, Gentelin’s on Broadway, Grafton Winery & Brewhaus, Johnson’s Corner, My Just Desserts, Outfitters Grill, State Street Market and Tony’s Restaurant.
“So many of the great rivers region restaurants offer diner delights and this week offers a great opportunity to celebrate the tastes of the region with residents and visitors alike,” said Brett Stawar, president and CEO of the Alton Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau. “Each year, this event grows to include more locally owned and operated restaurants. We have also seen a surge in visitors and residents enjoying meals at the participating restaurants which is a nice barometer of the impact of the event.”
Once again this year will be a social contest. If you share and post a picture of your restaurant week dish on Facebook Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #AltonRW2015, you will be entered into a drawing to win a gift certificate to one of the participating restaurants. The Alton Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau will also be offering a free commemorative, souvenir Restaurant Week glass for anyone who stops by the Alton Visitor Center with a receipt from one of the participating restaurants.
