2014 Spirit of Justice Award goes to Greensfelder attorney
ST. LOUIS – Erv Switzer, an attorney with Greensfelder, Hemker & Gale, P.C., is the recipient of the 2014 Spirit of Justice Award from the St. Louis Bar Foundation.
The award recognizes persons who have demonstrated accomplishment, leadership, and integrity in fostering and maintaining the rule of law and in facilitating and promoting improvement in the administration of justice.
Switzer, left, is an officer in Greensfelder’s litigation practice group where he represents clients in commercial litigation, including governmental regulatory affairs and appellate practice.
Switzer has served on the boards of the St. Louis Housing Authority, the St. Louis Public Library, the St. Louis City Board of Police Commissioners, the Governor’s Council on Disability, and Paraquad. He was a chief counsel for the Missouri Attorney General’s office, where he handled litigation on behalf of consumers and the disabled.
Switzer has been engaged in consumer protection law compliance for more than 15 years.
He is currently coordinating and editing research by more than 40 of the nation’s leading consumer protection law attorneys for an American Bar Association treatise entitled Consumer Protection Law Developments. The treatise is an important ABA reference guide for attorneys throughout the country examining changes and compliance issues in each state’s consumer protection laws.
Switzer is a cum laude graduate of the Saint Louis University School of Law. He also received a degree in political science from Saint Louis University.
He lives in South County.
