U.S. Bank Wealth Management has named Gary Guthrie as a senior portfolio manager for Institutional & Corporate Trust. Guthrie will be managing investment services for institutional clients in the St. Louis region, including pension funds, corporations, foundations, public entities, endowments and insurance companies.

Guthrie joins U.S. Bank after 11 years as senior institutional portfolio manager for UMB Bank, with a focus on Taft-Hartley union clients. His extensive experience also includes 15 years in institutional portfolio management at the former Union Planters Investment Advisors (now known as Regions Bank), where he led the Equity Strategy team and managed the Leader Growth and Income Fund.

“Gary Guthrie is a seasoned investment professional who brings a wealth of knowledge about the asset management business,” said Jennifer Vail, chief investment officer for Institutional and Corporate Trust. “His experience in managing institutional money will help us serve our clients in this region.”

Guthrie earned a bachelor’s degree in economics from Southern Illinois University and also graduated from Northwestern University’s American Bankers Association Trust School. He serves on the board of the Illinois Center for Autism and has previously been active with the Missouri Historical Society, St. Louis Zoo and the Gateway Chapter of National Association for Business Economics.
