MCT eyes expanding service on some routes
GRANITE CITY – Madison County Transit is proposing to enhance its bus service in 2015 and will host a series of public meetings to collect comments.
Highlights include: later weekday service on MCT Cross County routes, new Sunday service in the Alton, Collinsville, Edwardsville and Granite City areas and other minor route and schedule adjustments. If approved, the changes would take effect in January 2015. Times, dates and locations of the public meetings are listed below:
• MCT Collinsville Station Wednesday, Sept. 17, 10 a.m. to noon.
• MCT Alton Station Wednesday, Sept. 17, 3 to 5 p.m.
• MCT Granite City Station Thursday, Sept. 18, from 10 to noon.
• MCT Edwardsville Station Thursday, Sept. 18, from 4 to 6 p.m.

“For many residents, access to transportation means access to opportunity,” said MCT Managing Director Jerry Kane. “The goal of this proposal is to create opportunities for the people of Madison County to reach jobs, classes and services.”
