Town of Brighton receives money for police car

BRIGHTON – U.S. Rep. Rodney Davis, R-Taylorville, says the village of Brighton has been awarded a community facility grant from the U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development.

The competitive grant, in the amount of $4,800, will be used to purchase a fully equipped police vehicle to replace one of Brighton’s older high-maintenance police vehicles.

The vehicle will be used to provide 24-hour police services to the community and also provide 24-hour mutual aid assistance and emergency services to the Macoupin County Sheriff’s Department to the rural areas surrounding Brighton.
