Pediatrician joining Progressive Family Care practice
WATERLOO – Dr. Kenneth Hawn, a pediatric physician, is joining the practice of Progressive Family Care, the office has announced.
Hawn will be joining Elisha Schnieders, pediatric nurse practitioner, as part of the Progressive Family Care Pediatric Department at the Southern Illinois Center for Health.
“We’re certainly excited for Dr. Hawn to be joining our medical team. He shares our emphasis on outstanding care and compassion. As with the rest of our team, he sincerely cares about his patients,” says Dr. Michael Kirk, M.D., president of Progressive Family Care.
Bringing extensive experience to his newest position, Hawn will be seeing patients at both the Waterloo and Columbia Progressive Family Care locations. He will offer services for his patients such as infant and school immunizations, newborn and adolescent care, routine check-ups, health maintenance, physicals, parenting and
educational resources and sick visits.
Growing up in the West County area of St. Louis, Hawn completed his undergraduate training in Kirksville, Mo., before attending the University of Missouri-Columbia School of Medicine.
He remained there during his residency training in general pediatrics. He is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. For the past eight years, he’s been working in a general pediatrics clinic in Hot Springs, Ark.
“As a husband and father of two, I love assisting other families and providing them with
the best health care possible in the area. I’m thrilled about my new home and I’m ready
to meet my new patients and assist them in any way I can,” Hawn said.
Outside of work, Hawn enjoys family time with his wife and two sons, age 6 and
2. He also enjoys music, playing guitar and reading in his spare time.
Hawn will be serving patients at both Progressive Family Care locations. The
Waterloo office is located in the Southern Illinois Center for Health building at 509
Hamacher St., Suite 103, and the Columbia office is located at 208 N. Main St., Suite H.
