CUB’s holiday special: $100 off power bill

Citizens Utility Board, which has spent 30 years fighting rate hikes and helping people cut their utility bills, is offering Illinois consumers the chance to win $100 off their power bills in the middle of another hot summer.

To enter, visit CUB’s special July 4th Facebook Giveaway page at www.CitizensUtilityBoard.org. The contest deadline is 8 a.m. Monday, July 7, after which the consumer watchdog group will announce one randomly chosen winner. To enter, a participant must be an Illinois resident 18 years of age or older.

“Normally, CUB helps consumers lower their bills by battling rate hikes, giving out money-saving tips across Illinois, and showing families how to make their homes more energy efficient,” CUB Executive Director David Kolata said. “But in honor of the holiday we thought it would be fun to give some lucky family $100 off their summer power bill.”
