KAI Design & Build relocates St. Louis headquarters
ST. LOUIS – KAI Design & Build has announced plans to move its corporate headquarters from downtown St. Louis to a new location in Westport at 2060 Craigshire Road.
KAI purchased the 25,000-square-foot building in April. Renovation of the space is slated to be complete near the end of July and the firm expects to occupy the new space by Aug.4.
KAI will share the space with The Up Companies (comprised of Power Up Electrical Contractors, Square Up Builders, Keep Up Services, and Fuel Up Technologies), which are owned in part by KAI President Michael B. Kennedy.
“By owning this building and co-locating with The Up Companies, we are able to take advantage of operational efficiencies and shared overhead, which in turn allows us to reinvest in our people and processes, make all of the companies more competitive overall, and ultimately provide more value for our clients,” said Kennedy.
Since November 1994, the firm has rented space in the Metropolitan Square building downtown. “When we made the decision to move several years ago, we looked at many properties within the city, but none could sufficiently meet our needs. We then expanded our search and found our new building. Finding a property with 100-plus parking spaces and five acres giving us the ability to build a warehouse with a yard was a real win for us operationally, as we enhance our Build services. Our new building not only has everything we need, but is also centrally located. We’re excited about this new chapter for KAI as we continue to grow and evolve with the ever-changing design and construction industry,” said Kennedy.
