Liver center adds member to board of directors

ST. LOUIS – The Friends of the Saint Louis University Liver Center has announced that the not-for-profit organization has added Michael Higgins as a new member of its board of directors.

higgins michaelHiggins is the executive director of development for the Saint Louis University Medical Center. He started at SLU in February of 2009.

Prior to his position at Saint Louis University, Higgins spent 11 years working in student ministry, most recently in Kirkwood, Mo.

Michael Higgins joins the rest of the board of directors serving the Friends of the Saint Louis University Liver Center – Paul Azzara; Lou Ann Biermann; Edward Dowd, Jr.; Tom Fisher; Leslie Hodges; Todd Keske; Kathleen Morris; Vic Perini; Joe Reinberg; Dr. Jeff Teckman; Robert Thomas; Robin Ude, PhD; and Glenn Warnebold.

Since its inception in 2003, the Friends organization has raised and donated more than $2.8 million for the Saint Louis University Liver Center. The funds help support the critical infrastructure of the Liver Center from faculty salaries to visiting professorships and patient-oriented seminars and research.
