Workshop reviews workers’ compensation basics for employers
BELLEVILLE – Selsius Corporate & Career Training of Southwestern Illinois College has partnered with the Illinois Chamber of Commerce to offer the Workers’ Compensation Workshop for Employers.
This workshop will review the basics of workers’ compensation in Illinois, including benefits, the Workers’ Compensation Commission and handling a claim of injury from the beginning.
Taught by attorneys from the law firm of Keefe, Campbell, Biery & Associates, topics range from temporary total/partial disability, nature and extent of injury, wage loss differential, discovery, liens and related claims against workers’ compensation benefits in Illinois, surveillance, retaliatory discharge and how to handle workers’ compensation death claims to reviewing crucial factors to consider when dealing with any workers’ compensation claim.
The Workers’ Compensation Workshop for Employers will be Tuesday, June 10, from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the SWIC Belleville Campus, 2500 Carlyle Ave. It is preapproved for 5.5 HR Certification Institute (HRCI) credits and submitted to offer 5.25 Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits.
