Terry Lammers and Dave Kunkel of Kunkel Commercial Group have co-founded a new company to offer a broader range of services to their business clientele.
Innovative Business Brokerage Group, Inc. meets the needs of business people who are looking to either sell their business or purchase an existing business.
“The brokers at Kunkel Commercial Group noticed an increasing number of clients who needed help not only selling their business property, but also selling their actual business,” says Lammers, president of Innovative Business Brokerage Group. “With the many years of business experience that Dave and I bring to the table, we decided this is a niche we could successfully fill in the Southwestern Illinois market.”
Lammers is the former owner of local company Tri-County Petroleum, which he owned for 20 years before selling in 2010. At Tri-County, he gained essential mergers and acquisitions experience while participating in 11 successful business acquisitions. His leadership led the company to more than $40 million in sales.
After selling Tri-County Petroleum, he worked in the commercial banking division at Regions Bank for more than three years. Lammers then reconnected with longtime friend Kunkel and decided to obtain his commercial real estate license and join the Kunkel Commercial Group team.
Now Lammers is leading Innovative Business Brokerage Group and working with small-to-large companies throughout Southern Illinois. In addition to brokering, services include business valuation, marketing, consulting and bank/private investor financing.

A current opportunity offered through Kunkel Commercial Group is the Westview Condominiums next to I-70 in Collinsville. The building’s 11 condominiums are 100 percent occupied with two penthouses available for build out. Westview currently has prime commercial space available for lease. Plans for the construction of additional condominiums on the north side of the current building have been drawn. Westview also has an additional 4.4 acres that are ready for development in an approved TIF district with funds currently available.
