ALTON – Senior Services Plus, a not-for-profit organization offering programs and services for older adults, will hold its 5th Annual Feed the Need concert at the Riverfront Amphitheater on June 7, featuring country star John Michael Montgomery.
Executive Director Jonathan Becker the concert brings the community together with the goal of raising awareness for the Meals On Wheels program. All proceeds will benefit the agency’s meals program. Senior Services Plus is providing 650 meals daily, covering 22 townships in Madison and St. Clair counties.
Montgomery is a celebrity famous for a string of hits from a few years ago, including “I Swear,” “Sold,” “Be My Baby Tonight” and “I Love The Way You Love Me.”
Local favorite The Harman Family Bluegrass Band is the planned opening act. The group is originally from Shipman. The band today consists of first- and second-generation musicians with roots dating to 1975. The Harman’s music style ranges from traditional to contemporary bluegrass, country, gospel and other various types of music.
