O’FALLON, Ill. – Beginning on Tuesday, May 29, the intersection of Old Collinsville Road and Milburn School Road will close for the construction of a roundabout for much of the summer, the city announced today.
The road is estimated to be reopened to traffic on Friday, Aug. 10, weather permitting.
“We kindly ask that our residents be patient and considerate during this improvement project,” said Mayor Herb Roach. “Once completed, this intersection will be safer and have less traffic congestion.”
A marked detour route will be on Fairway Wood, Tea Olive, Savannah Hills Boulevard, Northshore Drive, and Dunhill Drive.
The work will consist of storm sewer and curb installation, construction of a roundabout and new pavement. The work will be completed by Hanks Excavating and Landscaping.
